10 July
We have just received a Geotech report for the property. This is used to determine the foundation type needed for the building. There is good solid ground as we anticipated!

13 March
We presented landscape plans, comments on a proposed condition, and details on materials to be used in the building. We have also had some incidental expenses so we have slipped back about $1500 in the fund.

15 February
Today we submitted our evidence for the resource consent hearing.

2 February
This afternoon we received the Council's report for the hearing. This gives some useful guidance in our preparation.

31 January
Good News! Enough funds have been raised to cover the purchase of the property!

23 January
Met this morning with the planning consultant and had a positive discussion and appreciate his experience and input.

18 January
We have a date set for the hearing on March 1.

11 January
We have engaged a Planning Consultant who has been very helpful due to his experience. After we shared the project with him he said that he was a Christian and will offer his services at a discount rate! Over the holiday period not much other progress has been made with companies and council closed but funds have continued to grow. We have been able to cover the month's costs (legal and council) and the fund has still grown to within $2,800 from the property purchase goal. We will continue to close that gap and then work toward covering the hearing costs.

21 December
Fortunately the vendors have been generous enough to offer a further extension to 29 March 2018 to allow for the hearing period. We have made good progress on the building design. Just $7,500 away from the property purchase.

12 December
Submissions close today. We received 9 supporting (thank you) and 2 opposing submissions. Unfortunately the opposers have requested to be heard so we will need to work through the hearing process.

5 December
Some positive submissions are being made to support the Resource Consent application. Submissions close one week today. We are continuing with developing and refining plans for the building and surroundings in anticipation of the consent being approved.

15 November
The public consent process has started today and closing December 12. We have been blessed with an extension with the vendors to cover the this extra time!

8 November
We've just received notification that the Council have decided to publicly notify our Resource Consent application. This means that members of the public will have the opportunity to support or oppose the application. This will take 20 working days and then a final decision will be made after this time. In the mean time funds have continued to come in and we are only about $12,500 from having the funds needed to purchase the property. Thanks for your support and prayers!

3 November
We had an interesting ‘coincidence’ this week. We are making a conscious effort to save spending in other areas. We have money held for special projects and recently everything was in place to get copies of the Great Controversy in the Fijian language printed. We were reticent to spend the money but decided that we should not hold back. We sent off the payment to get the books printed. Soon after a cheque arrived in the post from the USA, from a group who had spent the last 3 months collecting funds for that project. When we converted the cheque to NZ dollars it is within about $10 of the amount that we sent to fund the books! It is like God says, don’t worry about the money, that is my business!

25 October
At present we are waiting on the council to process the resource consent. In the meantime we have opportunity to continue to raise funds for the property purchase and building expenses. Right now we are just $27,000 short of the property purchase goal.

13 October
The notification process will take considerably more time and so we requested an extension from the vendors and we were pleased when they allowed an extra 2 months! We have adjusted the consent application to give some more information on the total building plan since there were some questions around this part of it. It also means that rather than applying for the basic addition with mention of the full building, this allows us to actually build the full building (or just the addition) as funds allow. This extra time gives opportunity to raise the remaining funds.

9 October
Since some affected parties have chosen to not complete the consent forms some other processes will happen.

4 October
We just knelt as a team and had a word of thanks because this morning the building fund has reached over $200,000!

3 October
The local council want ‘affected parties consent’ for the project. This has its share of complications. Fortunately Damon had done this before for a personal project (God must have been using it for training). He threw himself into preparing the necessary paperwork. We obtained half of the consents we required and some positive feedback from neighbours.

28 September
We have had three exciting updates today. First we had a call from a man who had just lost his job, but he still wanted to give thousands toward the project. Second, we had a lady who found some unsent cheques from her mother who died about 7 years ago, she honoured them and sent the funds to this project. Thirdly we have just reached half of the necessary funds for the first stage of this project in actual funds in the bank! God is blessing!

25 September
We've been blessed by the prayers, financial contributions, and also offers of practical assistance. We've had offers of some help towards paint, engineering, demolition, electrical, plumbing, drainlaying, heating system installation and more!

22 September
Good news! With the help of some generous loans we reached the minimum target which means the finance can be confirmed. This now gives confidence in the project and all contributions will be going to reduce that loan so that we can move onto the next stage to prepare the property for use. Thankyou!

12 September
Yesterday we sat down with the local council and had a positive discussion on making the resource consent plans work better for them and us. We have submitted updates today.

8 September
We have just sent out letters to hundreds of contacts to make them aware of this project.

7 September
Praising God this morning for the fund growing. After our staff worship we checked the bank account and there was a large donation that has boosted the fund. We are also thankful for the trickle of donations that is starting to flow.

6 September
We have received the property LIM and there appears to be no serious complications there.

4 September
We started to promote this page via social media and have had good response and interest and some donations given already. Thank you!

1 September
Details for Resource Consent have been assessed by local council staff and Lodged today.

30 August
Sale & Purchase agreement signed allowing for due diligence and fund raising. This takes us to 11th October.

This is a real challenge of faith as we only have about $101,000 in the bank for this project.

A friend spoke with us today and we shared that we had signed an agreement. They offered a donation of over $700 on the spot, this is so encouraging to get started!
